A firmware construct, coming in a hardwired ROM cassette, can contain a person's stored memory/personality, replicating his memories, skills, obsessions, even kneejerk responses. As a result it doesn't gain new memories, but when it is jacked into the bank, it can be given a sequential, real time memory.

Dixie Flatline's construct was stored in a ROM numbered 0467839. It resembled the magazine of a large assault rifle, its surfaces covered with warning decals and security ratings and was stored in the vault of the Sense/Net Pyramid.
